Two Panel Comic

1: [Blue background. A slightly overweight white man wears a camo bullet proof vest over a black t-shirt. He has a black baseball cap on his head and wears a red bandana over his nose and mouth. He wears a menacing expression on his face.]

Guy: I’m a Proud Boy and I will never stop fighting for true manliness!

2: [Pink background. The Proud Boy now twiddles his fingers, with an abashed expression on his face. His eyes are drawn in an anime style with an anime blush across his nose and cheeks.]

Guy: But I also gotta hide my face because I’m a widdle soft-as-baby-shit chicken.

I knew it sounded familiar. Like that one porn scene you always seem to remember but can never quite recall. However, you are sure you fapped to it successfully.

In the age of mass surveillance, it might be good to take a page from their behaviors.

Kinda crazy we’re not all hiding our faces all the time.

The pandemic sucked but I’m just glad that it’s socially acceptable to wear a mask anywhere in the world now.

Where I am the pandemic changed nothing about the acceptance of masking. Even during the pandemic I had people asking me to remove my mask.

Uhh in much of shithole countries (America) you can get shot for wearing a covid mask. Or at least disrespected.

I’d be publicly shamed if I wore one everywhere.

The only ones I’ve seen with masks the last few years are Asians in airports when I’m traveling, and they wore those even before covid so I’m not sure it’s covid related.

it’s definitely more expected among various asian cultures. My city has a pretty large contingent of Chinese, Taiwanese, HKers, etc.

I think it’s an expectation that really SHOULD spread to everyone. Masking up when you’re sick it an awesome idea.

It’s not a page from their book tho. The black bloc protesting tactic has been a main staple in leftist protests before most of these bootlickers were even born

The difference here is that, the people participating in black bloc part of a leftist protest are doing so to protect their fellow protestors from violence while trying to not get prosecuted by the state encouraging that same violence. Meanwhile these bootlickers with their tacticool gear and face mask are only trying to protect their identity to prevent social consequences and so that they can commit violence against minorities without any consequence. The state and police are pretty much on their side so why else would you have to protect your identity if nothing else because you’re a fucking bootlicking pussy

It’s pointless with current surveillance tech. Even juggalo face paint doesn’t work anymore

        • My uneerstandingiis that there’s a lot of identifiable info in your eye area. I’ve seen no convicing evidence that this tech is good against a baseball cap, sunglasses and a balaclava covering the nose and ears. As for gait analysis, that’s a whole other tangled story.

Worth noting that what works for researchers IDing among 100 faces or what’s promised in surveillance tech brochures is not necessarily reality.

It’s not pointless you just have to be creative. IR LEDs are cheap and their light is invisible to us but enough light can flood out a camera feed. You can get/build a cheap device that detects these devices’ BLE signatures and further automate from there. (E.g. : use that data to populate a map, then use the map to inform other strategies/hide yourself within a certain range.)

There’s gotta be other turnkey stuff that walks the line of being offensive while not being conspicuous or doing permanent (physical) damage, I just haven’t come across it yet or it is coming.

This fight is far from over

I mean again hate to defend these people but those were two different reasons for masking its perfectly valid to believe some things call for masking like protecting your privacy, and to also believe other scenarios don’t even if you are wrong. Unsure how its cowardice and not just them having the wrong opinions.

First of, never under any circumstances do you have to give it to fascists.
Second, during the pandemic wearing a mask in closed spaces was done to prevent the spread of COVID, to help protect the young, old and sick or to say it in more simple terms, to do something for your fellow human being. For them, this was to much to ask for. But now when they march through the streets, waving confederate flags, trying to intimidate everyone who is not as fascist and as white enough for their liking, the mask are all of a sudden no problem for them because they know that they will get into trouble and will be shunned by all normal humans when they show their faces doing this. This is what makes them cowards.

Yeah as someone who hates Proud Boys, this is obviously a bad faith attack on them which has the exact blowback you say.

People doing (or threatening to do) political violence are usually going to want to hide their identities from law enforcement and employers, and virtually everyone is afraid of getting arrested and/or fired.

    PizzaCake is political Garfield

It’s not clever, it’s not funny, it’s not edgy, it’s not smart… it’s the predictable safe, tired, thing and for some reason people eat it up

    “HAHA, Mondays do suck!”

“Right, why cover your face if you’re so proud?”

Genius level creativity here, definitely not the same tired joke everyone makes all of the time and have been making for years

Garfield is notorious for being lame to the point where there are no real jokes… Garfield comics are just Garfield saying the same thing everybody says

For instance, I googled “Garfield Comic” and the first one that showed up was Garfield walking up to a mirror, Looking in the mirror, walking away from the mirror, and the last panel had Garfield think, “when did the cat in that mirror get so old?”

There’s nothing to that comic, It could have been one panel if you really wanted it to be and that “joke” is the same thing my Grandma said when we walked past a store with a reflective window

And that’s all this PizzaCake comic is

Literally everybody was like, “if they’re so proud why do they cover their face?” – it’s the political equivalant of, “If it didn’t ring up it must be free”

        This shit sucks

You realize humor isn’t always the point, right? Relatability is one of the biggest reasons people read comics like Garfield. It’s not funny that he hates Mondays, it’s relatable. It’s human to seek that kind of connection. People often enjoy reading Garfield comics because we enjoy finding validation of our desire to be lazy. That being said, they can also be hilarious; I remember rereading this one all the time as a kid, and just dying of laughter.

I’m not super familiar with this comic’s artist, but I can see why you compared them to Garfield - this comic clearly isn’t trying to be funny so much as it’s trying to connect with the reader about our shared frustrations with the state of the world. It reminds us that, while the world is stacked against us, we still have like-minded people to turn to for support. It’s nice to see that.

true, but i dont know… feels like if your mixing your comics and your nudes on the same platform, that maybe you arent confident in your abilities and need tits to draw more attention to your art. Not a judgement, just an observation.

You show up every single time someone is remotely critical of Pizzacake and defend her.

Why? What’s in it for you?

Not who you replied to, but reading all the haters’ comments has become part of the pizzacake experience for me. Personally, I’m not sure why so many people spend so much of their own time and energy making the same criticisms over and over, but I know I will see the comments every time one of her comics is posted.

For me personally, it just annoys me that such a profoundly bland and mediocre artist gets such a ridiculous amount of support.

And over some very bland, middle of the road takes no less.
