I’ve been gooning for decades, but I’ve never seen this much choking in porn. It seems like most of the m/w videos eventually have the man’s hand on the woman’s neck. Usually it’s light, like he’s just checking a box.

When did choking become so popular?

For show but I’ve been reading some really disturbing articles on erotic asfixiation and what was once a niche has become a scary trend and more and more people are viewing it as a “normal” thing to do during sex.

It is an obvious and clear show of violent behaviour, it is not something that should be done under any circumstances. People die because of it.

The machine is just returning more of what you are searching. It was made specifically with that intent. Wipe your history.

Yeah, when the woman clearly isn’t into it, it feels more like violence than fun.

I get that this can be consensual, but it doesn’t generally look like that in the videos the algorithm throws at me.

I’m looking forward to the trend ending.

      Hard disagree.

Like anything else, its how its done. It isnt necessarily violent, it can be sensual. It isnt dangerous if youre aware of what youre doing.

Dont do it without learning first or without your partner learning first.

Regardless, it is a show of violence and a behaviour considered dangerous, as it actively endangers an individual. No amount of restrain or knowledge on it deems it as safe.

I have to respect those who view it differently but I will not uphold or defend it.

it is a show of violence

Violence is using force to harm. No “regardless”. Stop calling a consensual act that does no harm “violent” when it isn’t.

Hypoxia is hypoxia. There is no way to redefine the concept of starving the central nervous system of oxygen.

How you achieve such state is open to imagination and that is a wide field of debate.

Returning to my previous point on holding your breath: it is possible. The amount of oxygen you can hold in the lungs is limited and the amount of time you can survive on it is also limited.

If the aim is to induce the rush coming from the oxygen starvation, one only needs to hold their breath while phisically exerting themselves, like tensioning the entire body.

There are reports on athletes reaching sensations close to sexual pleasure from this, like weight lifters, swimmers and runners. The body chemistry is complex but a probable cause may be the body mistaking the lack of oxygen with an imminent danger and triggering the release of a cocktail of endorphines to ease pain and ready the body for fight or flight, which is known and documented to elevate perception.

Tying this with hypoxia for sexual pleasure is not hard but I’m not about to share anecdotes or ideas on it and risk being accused of sharing harmful ideas.
