A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•The moral priorities of the average AmericanEnglish
3·5 days agoIf you can get a job beforehand, not that difficult I think. I’m no expert in these matters though. However, over on Reddit there’s a whole subreddit dedicated to it. Lots of good info there: https://www.reddit.com/r/TillSverige/

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•The moral priorities of the average AmericanEnglish
33·5 days agoWould be interesting to see a comparison with other countries. Here in Sweden, it’s illegal to spank children, and most people are OK with that, AFAIK. Abortion is also not frowned upon in any way. We would have wildly different results on this chart.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft Teams users are extremely angry at new banner asking them to payEnglish
2·8 days agoIt had it’s brief moment in the sun ~20 years ago. It’s not dead, of course, but is in no way a “hot” technology today, as I understand it.
Being on holiday really felt like you were in a far away place, cut off from everything familiar. Today, no matter where you go on the planet, everything is kinda the same because you bring your digital environment with you.
I just hate the format. I don’t have ADHD, I can handle longer content.
Wtf are you talking about? Do you think LLMs are faking it with remote operators??

Technology@lemmy.world•Linux lays down the law on AI-generated code, says yes to Copilot, no to AI slop, and humans take the fall for mistakes — after months of fierce debate, Torvalds and maintainers come to an agreementEnglish
41·25 days agoTraining AI isn’t about memorization and plagiarism of existing work, it’s using existing work to learn the underlying patterns.
Thank you. This is exactly what people misunderstands. LLMs aren’t gigantic databases that just shuffles information that they’ve copied from the internet.

2·26 days agoI gave up on trying to find a solid AndroidTV app just for Jellyfin music. I reverted to using dedicated music apps for Jellyfin on my phone and just cast it to the TV.

Europe@feddit.org•Trump said wind power is for ‘stupid people.’ Five days later, European countries agreed to build one of the planet’s biggest wind farms in the North SeaEnglish
6·1 month agoGenerally, rich a-holes don’t like wind because it disturbes the view from their properties. Really selfish and dumb, of course.
Mint on my main daily driver because I need the stability for work, and don’t need bleeding edge for common work stuff. MX Linux KDE on my Thinkpad because KDE plays extremely well with external screens, and I need to plug it in to a lot of different foreign monitors/projectors during a normal work week.

Of course, it’s full of religious morons.
