No no of course not, it’ll only take a minute, and hey, I did such a good job with food distribution I can do it again if you want…

Yeah, but humans like efficiency and delegation, so eventually that power coagulates
So all I gotta do is be the person delegated to the vigilance task and I’m golden for a takeover

Don’t twist it. My point was that there’s people who actively dislike this regime and are doing something about it. It’s too counter the idea that all Americans are for this regime. Your approval of how some people’s tactics is irrelevant, it’s still showing that the people aren’t a monolith.
Yeah, only if you ignore all the people fighting against it

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•META POST: MOTION TO MAKE A RULE THAT CROPPING THE ARTIST'S SIGNATURE IS AGAINST THE RULES
32·21 days agoIf I were to indulge in pedantry, the rule would be against cropping signatures, not requiring they exist. If it’s unsigned then there’s nothing to crop. I like your phrasing much better though, require attribution if you have it.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Most Americans would rather live in a big house in a car-based community than a small house in a walking-based community.English
361·28 days agoOk that’s misleading a bit. The poll asked if you’d rather live in a larger house that’s further from other people but stuff like restaurants are miles away, or smaller and closer together but stuff like restaurants are within walking distance. I’m paraphrasing but only slightly here.
You’re extrapolating the car based and walking based part, but these people could also want more public transportation and bike routes. Maybe these people already live in cramped apartment buildings and just dream of having a big house. There’s other factors than just “me dum American me want car”
Gotta love how one person writing a silly essay, which didn’t have anything to do with atheism, just being a gaff, got turned into something very atheist and very serious.
You can do all of those without having to actually believe in a specific religion. And the first two happen very easily without religion.

Which, sure, would be cool to try, but I think that any system for organizing humans has a critical flaw, that being the humans. Even with a rotation, just one bad actor can screw things up a lot.
