Many interpret the Wizard of Oz as being a reference to the authors ideas about the switch to gold and silver backed money, which was an issue of the time.

Oz references ounces, the yellow brick road is a golden road, in the book Dorothy has silver shoes, not ruby, the Emerald City is supposedly where paper currency is issued, and the Wizard is supposed to be a banker.

Oh and the Lion is supposed to be Teddy Roosevelt. Apparently there are a fair few political references of the era it was written.

I wasn’t saying it was a concession. It’s a realignment. Traditional models are still changing. A change the world and social norms are still adapting to.

Some will not handle the change as well as you. Wider society perhaps already isn’t (it’s part of the male fragility that was exploited to put Trump in power).

The question is, in an age of guns for self defense, what do men have on offer? Will they end up learning how to diet, exercise, cook, clean, and look after the children in order to maintain stronger relationships with hot partners? Will men finally be in charge of the domestic sphere, and women rule elsewhere? Some perhaps having cicisbeo?

Capitalism is the enemy… Intel are clearly just looking to bump their stock price with this news, which probably means they have bad news to give soon.

I bet it will be the classic “We’re raising prices because our market share is in decline”.

A lot of the commenters seem like they would have denounced the french resistance as being terrorists.

I don’t think people really understand why “terrorism” and guerilla tactics happen - they come about when there’s massive power imbalances.

No government is perfect, leadership and political factionalism gets particularly bad during war, as do the various inhumanities and war crimes. Usually in the hands of the greater power dehumanization is involved in the desire to exterminate, in the lesser power a seething revenge and fearless demand for the right to life to the point of wanting to exterminate the enemy totally.

It is very much true that “one man’s freedom fighter is another’s terrorist”…

…but in the end we have humans killing humans, and that’s the real problem. A problem which is currently serving the US military industrial complex which Israel is contractualy obliged to preference, and much of the US funding for Israel is spent back into that industry.

The war pigs get fat on human blood, and they don’t really care whose it is, as long as there’s a lot of it. Meanwhile Israel can be seen as aligning with US geopolitical interests, seeking the destabilization of Russias allies and perhaps even annexing oil resources. This is modern rationale for mass killings and war.
