Stop using these apps, go outside
I do that, but it’s not working well enough. I can do both.
First Amazon now Tinder… Who gave them the idea the term “camera roll” is a thing? Nobody “shops their camera roll” or allows “scanning their camera roll”. Where the fuck did this shit come from?
EDIT: I’m old enough, by far, to know the origin of the term, i just think it’s stupid that companies are suddenly using it in commercials over more common modern terms like gallery
You just outed yourself as young. It’s a holdover from physical film cameras, when film came in a roll. I’m digital, it’s just your “photos taken on this device” folder
Tinder scanning my photo library, reading my diary and social media. Then it automatically generates perfect pictures and text for my dating profile. Then an AI bot looks at profiles for me and chats with other AI bots to set up dates. It then automatically adds a date to my calendar and makes a reservation in a restaurant. Nice.
So, AIs are going to be breeding humans. And that brings us one step closer to the Matrix.
Leads to my favorite punchline/rebuttal combo “do you need the robot to fuck your wife for you too?”
Honestly, that sounds like a great experience.
It might actually lead to a relationship though, so there’s no way Tinder will make it so easy.
Oh yeah, it takes out all the humanity put of the dating experience, so that you can just focus on the transactional sex.
And all it costs you is ALL of your privacy
Burn it to the ground
Owned by Match Group, the same company that destroyed the dating site that matched compatible people too well.
“Destruction of OkCupid as an attack against its liberal-skewed user base"
https://lemmy.world/post/24108120And this is why I use GrapheneOS’s Storage Scopes
Not to detract from graphene, but stock Android can let you manage what specific pictures each app has access to. I don’t trust Meta with full access to my gallery, so anytime I have to upload something to Whatsapp, I have to specifically grant permission for that photo to Whatsapp.
Fun fact, that functionality literally came from GrapheneOS. Google onboarded it from Graphene.
Orrrrrr, you could, and hear me out…NOT use products from argueably THE biggest invader of privacy of our times. You could just use another messanger.
I don’t decide what I use for work. My employer does.
Your employer is allowed to tell you what apps you have on your personal phone?
I had a shit employer, I’m normally self-employed but I took a job one winter, they wanted me to download some app called Deputy to like spy on me 24/7. I never did.
pick photos and determine what they’re into.
Why not do things the old fashioned way and just ask? Almost like a survey or something.
Every day I thank the Gods for having met my partner, and no longer needing to use dating apps is a huge part of it.
Anyway, does the word “enshittification” even make sense when the service was already shit to begin with? How do we even refer to a move like this? “Shittiness diversification”?
Who’d have imagined that “jumping the enshittification” would be a thing.

I know this is a hard concept to understand, but you can still meet other human beings without the use of a dating app.
Lol, good. The user’s of all ‘mainstream’ social networks, for dating or not, should be fine with that.
Weirdly judgemental of people looking to meet others…
I am. Fact.
