Boomers have little to do with it. Boomers normalized contraception, were among the first generations to discuss sex openly and played a significant role in changing attitudes toward homosexuality, from being widely criminalized to becoming more socially accepted in many countries.
Even if boomers die there will unfortunately still be conservatives and religious people of all ages that oppose anything other than being straight.
Boomers might have moved things in the right direction, but let’s not pretend that a significant portion of them didn’t push things like conversion camps.
Plenty of States, run by boomers, would still ban homosexuality if not for the federal government.
Fair enough. But what makes you believe our generation will fair better in 50 years, when we are “veterans” in important positions? When that time comes, our current values and beliefs will be outdated as well. And upcoming generations will say the same about us. We can blame boomers, but in the end the future is our responsibility, and we have yet to prove we can achieve more.
