    I fucking love niri, the only real complaint I have is poor touchscreen support…

    … a 'blur my shell" option would be cool too, just a blurred version of the background > gray blank space…

    Have you tried changing how much the overview zooms out? I’ve got mine set to 0.25 which gives you three rows, plus enough of the top and bottom ones to get the idea. Of course, you might not end up with crazy numbers of windows and workspaces like I do…

    How do you get the bar to only show on overview? I’ve always been a no bar type person and found them distracting, but I do feel like I’m missing out by not using noctalia…

      Mod+O { spawn "sh" "-c" "niri msg action toggle-overview; ~/.config/waybar/scripts/toggle.sh"; }

      the toggle script kills or launched waybar process

        That’s a clever way of doing it, hadn’t thought about that. Btw, did you know waybar supports toggling by sending it a SIGUSR1 Signal? It might simplify your script.

        Thanks, that makes sense. I was hoping you could have it “reveal” the bar as you zoom out into the overview. I assume this would basically make it pop in, although I suppose the bar could be set to fade in which would look nice…

    Honestly Niri is the only WM i’ve used where you really don’t need a bar at all. I maybe use all of 2 workspaces on it because honestly you don’t really need it and to tell the time I had a script piped into dunst where I could just pull up the time via a keybind ala cagebreak or I also have it scripted into tmux along with battery status.

    Also Niri just works right out of the box. spent the past week fighting with DWL+NixOS trying to get it to work as I somehow borked all xwayland applications via a patch or a config. Went back to Niri just for the ease/minimal config.
