If you mean running a game directly without any display server of whatever running, i don’t think that’s possible, but the closest thing to that might be gamescope i think? Gamescope should be able to run directly as a graphical session instead of it being nested inside an X server/wayland compositor, but gamescope still runs on wayland regardless.

I’d just like to interject for a moment…

Package availability was pretty good when i used it. The big one people often complain about is Hyprland. Void doesn’t package it because they don’t like the dev, but you can still install it with this repo.
Yeah i still have Niri installed along with my other window managers. I’ll probably keep trying it every now and then. I do think the overview is pretty cool. At the moment my favorite window manager is probably River and i use it the most. Doesn’t have any fancy animations and such but it pretty much has all the practical features i care about.
I’m not the person you replied to, but i keep trying niri and it just doesn’t click with me. Theoretically from a screen real estate perspective the scrolling model would be better, but to me it feels less organized and i’m more likely to lose track of my windows. On a dynamic tiler i might only open 3 windows max on a workspace, but atleast i can see in one glance what windows are open, and my waybar is configured to only show workspaces that are either active or have windows opened on them, so it makes things super clear for me.
Because of Primeagen i can’t get Helix deez nuts out of my head lol. It’s a good editor though. Decided to use it because i’m too lazy to configure something Neovim or Emacs (although i suppose i could use one of the preconfigured distros).

It’s hard to say for sure what’s causing the issue, but it’s definitely possible that it’s kernel related. I’ve never used cachyOS, but when i was still using Arch i’ve had issues with newer kernels multiple times. Switching to the LTS kernel would usually fix the problem though. I’m actually facing a weird issue myself right now on GNU Guix, where my pc has randomly rebooted itself multiple times over the past few weeks. My first thought was the kernel since Guix is also rolling release, but i haven’t tried the LTS kernel yet because the nonguix substitute servers are having issues, so i would have to wait for it to compile lol.
Oh btw regarding your question, i don’t know if cachy offers the regular arch kernel in its repos as well, but generally speaking kernels should be pretty compatible regardless of distro. You can also install the cachy kernel on NixOS for example.
