It’s fascinating to me how social norms can be so radically warped from one society to another. I was like you at first. Tried it once and went back to Hyperland.

Gave Niri another shot and then the mental model clicked. It’s just so comfy to not have your windows resized all the time just because of opening another app or window. The overview is also bomb. You can also install stuff like Noctalia shell which comes with a dock, so you can quickly switch to an app anywhere on any workspace. Niri supports that. 👍

And I use workspaces in Niri for the exact same reason. One for coding/work, one for communication (slack, email, etc), one for gaming/entertainment.

I recommend giving it another shot if you’re interested and open-minded to optimizing your workflows. Otherwise stick with what you know, that’s also fine.

You really don’t need thigh-highs to belong with the Unix family. Everyone is welcome.

It really is greener there. Been there for almost two decades, it’s so nice. Been tweaking my setup ever since and it’s still evolving all the time.

My last venture has been Niri + Noctalia shell. Works so great together.

Didn’t really evade this bomb though, did he? Someone said it struck in the crack there and exploded in there, which was very lucky for them. Otherwise, smithereens.

Could you please explain why not renewing their certs is such a serious betrayal? Like, if they fixed it, isn’t that okay? And even if it happened again, and they fixed it again, isn’t it human to err? Or why is it such a harsh offense?

Serious question, I don’t know the consequences of not renewing these certs. 😊
