Imo, paying for reconstruction is the moral thing to do when there is no rational basis for a war. I have no idea whether $300b is the right amount.

The highest estimated cost by the OBM for universal healthcare in the US is $290B.

      Just gonna leave that here.

and it can be taken out of the overbloated defense budget too, and they still have more than enough for thier big guns and toys.

Yeah, it objectively has to be far, far less. Tax payers directly funding health providers would destroy a great amount of the demand for such a massive private health insurance industry, which is why we pay so much in the first place.

You are correct, even the absolute highest estimates for universal healthcare are still notably lower than what we pay now. The real number would be drastically lower though.

That would be an expected consequence.

We have a dizzying maze of providers, insurance, and regulations that produce a horrible bureaucracy that puts any tangled mess the government comes up to shame, inefficiencies everywhere.

Universal healthcare is just such a simpler system that it’s hard to make it worse than what’s going on right now.

For the war itself hard to say, for the decades of sanctions? It makes complete sense if not undershooting their costs

no rational basis for a war

It’s a gay-hanging dictatorship with a religious doomsday wish looking to get nuclear weapons

If that mattered, we’d be going to war with genocidal Pissrael, who has done far worse than anything Iran has even thought of doing.

It was for the oil and at the behest of the Zionazis who own the US government. But you know that.

As a fellow gay, I don’t care. War is war and war is bad. Genocide is bad. How horrible the party you’re opening a war against is doesnt change this.

The important thing is that we associate any local LGBT movement with a foreign government bombing civilian infrastructure. That’s sure to help!

Well I thought that the war against IS had a rational basis as well. Does that make you say that means I ‘support’ all the innocent casualties?

The difference here is that Iran’s government got in power by a people’s revolution. The Iranian people ousted the Shah and largely support their government. Of course there are voices critical inside because they’re still facing oppression, but now from the revolution. However people are less likely to show tolerance and understanding when LGBTQ+ people are weaponised against their countries and when they see western LGTBQ+ people cheer for imperialist aggression against their countries makes, not more.

If you truly care about the oppression of LGTBQ+ people what you should do is support peace and the hard work of agitating for more understanding and tolerance. As it stands a lot of people understand that the west and their imperialism is their enemy and a murder machine looking to devour them and if that machine then loudly cheers for gay rights they will think that this is to destroy their society as well. This is the reason that among other countries Russia states in support of their homophobia and Iran uses as well.

You’re not going to bomb people into being more tolerant. Mandatory revolutionaryth0t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgwPECzyeG4 They are very cool and correct.

Also the war against ISIS was also a complete shit-show and failure. Look who’s ruling Syria now. So many civilians dead and you have nothing to show for it. This is a pattern, and I can’t actually believe that you haven’t picked up on it. The USA claims to fight for <good value> but somehow that never comes to pass and instead a lot of people die for the profit of the epstein countries. Death to the USA and death to pissrael.

Israel already has nuclear weapons. But otherwise yeah I agree. Israel is a nasty country.
