I never expected this generation’s Steve to be so prolific in the political sphere. We need more of it. Like a current day Mr. Rogers.
A lot of us were last human when we were small children, reading and growing and laughing, then we grow up and accept fate.
Hell, I still think about Mr. Rogers.
Honestly, this is why school integration is such a big deal to these people. Hard to be a racist if you’re a kid playing with kids.
I remember an ad about that. Bunch of kids playing at the park. White girl playing with a black girl. White girl’s mother calls her over and tells her not to play with the black girl. Little girl just asks “why” and the mother can’t really think of a reason to tell her.
I don’t think she meant for this to happen with her initial comment but I’m glad she stepped up.
Not to give her too much credit but I feel the backlash a beloved kids show host got just for caring about kids was a wakeup call for a lot of people
Such a terrible world. Imagine being the nicest person in a generation and your reward is to be exposed to the cruelty and horror humanity can inflict on others as you are looked to for support. The withering emotional damage of seeing the innocent pained for reasons is hard enough when we see these things by ourselves - now carry the weight and support of people looking for decency in the world. Poor Ms Rachel.
That was very thoughtfully stated. Thank you for sharing those words with us.
This world is hard on people who have empathy and basic decency.
She is a wonderful person.
