You raise fair points.
However,
As someone who got the unlucky draw if the genetics dice, I don’t get to enjoy reading (hardcore dyslexia), I don’t get to enjoy walking (fibromyalgia), I don’t get to enjoy being around others (autism and several mental health issues), I’m grateful for plumbing (ibs and lactose intolerance), but hate that I can’t afford healthy food because I’m on such limited income due to disability. I don’t get to participate and still judged as if I’m healthy, because I have the curses of invisible disabilities.
I physically cannot help make it better for others other than being as nice as I can…
And now the few people I do like and who like me are in danger because of absolutely preventable human made policies. Humanity just dosent want to deal with it because it’s not physically close to them.
meanwhile people like me and my family are to die, for the audacity for not being an ideal human in some rich religious cults mind.
What exactly am I supposed be happy about? Being alive? All the meds that keep me unfortunately, alive? Or the fact I’m not being raped in an ice cell?
I’m supposed to be happy at the broken body that aches me every day? I
don’t feel joy, I don’t smell the roses because I’ll get sick from being allergic to plants nutting willy nilly.
My exsitance is already hell, and humanities inaction on this evil threat is driving me to suicidal rage every day because I cannot see the point of being alive.
Oh dear. Yeah nah I’m not trying to tell you to buck up, god forbid because that sounds like hell itself. The only point I would want to make to you is not to confuse your pain and suffering with the fate of humanity. I love or hate humans depending on my mood too, that’s not just you.
The way it’s supposed to work in society is I’m looking after anyone like you and you’re doing whatever you’re up for doing. Weaving, or art maybe… It doesn’t matter.
Life used to be simpler than everything we’ve created, but it’s hard to have hope in a society where we’re not part of a common endeavour. Being alienated from that labour erodes society as surely as anything.
We’re a tough species and we can shoulder a lot of hardship when we think it will matter someday. The current system does everything it can to keep you from feeling like that. Caring about the future is the enemy of short term profits, right?
Sorry for throwing in the political stuff, it’s just a load-bearing piece of worldview that I’m trying to clarify. I hope you find a place in a community that values you, and if there’s anything I can do to help, let me know?
