How do people who escape North Korea to South Korea? Considering the DMZ is nothing but a huge minefield, how do they navigate that?

    Mostly through China. It is risky and if caught, they will most certainly send you back, but many chance it. Cross into China in remote areas, sneak south, cross back into south Korea

    A common way is to escape via China. Some North Koreans are able to get work visas and make their escape while abroad. They will have help along the way, or they won’t make it far.

    we only hear about the ones that got out could be 10’s of thousands or hundreds of thousands tho tried over the years, maybe even millions. difficult to prove a negative.
