I have been a live in slave before, and things went poorly.

The lessons I learned is to have a separate inaccessible bank account, and to continue being employed.

Any other advice for doing this as safely as I can? Contracts don’t have any legal bearing, and I’m just trying to thing of all the things that can go wrong.

Hi, nice to see you also made the switch here from lemmynsfw ^^
I personally think that in any such dynamic it should be established that your job, family, friends, finances and health shouldn’t be negatively affected by the dynamic.
A master/owner/etc also has a responsibility to look out for you and how you are doing.
Financial independence is definitely a good thing.
Hard limits should be communicated beforehand.
Even if everything works well, any kind of dynamic and relationship benefits from regular communication, everybody should have a personal conversation about how things are going with there partner every 1-2 Months. Even if there’s nothing to improve currently, highlight what’s been going well and what the other person does that you love. Makes it just better for everybody.
Don’t commit to a stranger, it sucks to commit and then find out you are incompatible. If there’s a previously established dynamic, build from that gradually to see how it develops and if it works for both people.
And of course always be safe an look out for yourself <3
