I watch them too, at least the first few episodes, but the last one I watched I had to alt-F4 mid-episode.

“I don’t want slaves, but that poor super-sexy girl slave will definitely get bullied if I don’t take on the responsibility of being her master. And she can’t just be free because she has a slave crest tattooed on her ass cheek for everyone to see.”

    Biggest eyeroll ever.

Yeah that’s the one. The first episodes were okay-ish if I’m being generous, but I just couldn’t continue after that scene.

Yeah, the trope was enough to kinda knock me out of it. I might watch another episode but I’m not really as excited about it as I was before.

I think this one is a brand new release, at least on Crunchyroll. Yours must be a different one. Hopefully you won’t have to go through that much cringe!

Oh gotcha! It’s a good strategy if you don’t want to get a single weekly episode!

Not that one, but IMO Shield Hero went from mid to terrible over the seasons. I haven’t even bothered with the latest ones.

That’s a pretty crude way to put it, but I can’t argue with the sentiment.

I think you got that backwards. The reason that the jerk from that episode hadn’t had his way with her yet was that doing so would cause the slave crest to be damaged.

most the heinous acts are filtered out on hidive.

I had to download it to get the full unedited version.

the first episode is hilarious when the MC is “doing things” to her and all they focus on is the fireplace as she screams and moans. this is like 8 minutes of the episode.

don’t feel bad though, she totally deserved it for the absolute horrible things she did to the MC before.

honestly I was disappointed he didn’t just kill her.

Gods I fucking wished any of them actually did liberation. They just buy slaves and then feel bad about it (but it’s okay, the slave really likes them as a master 🤮)

Give me “I Got Reincarnated into a World of Slavery. So I Killed All the Slavers”

The closest I’ve seen to that is “The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat”, but uh, it’s really far off from that concept. They do kill a bunch of billionaires buying slaves in the in medias res of the first episode, though. Which is nice

I really don’t like isekais that much, so it’s rare when one gets my attention. Most recent one to do so would be DR. STONE (does that count?), otherwise Log Horizon.

Even very popular ones like Re:Zero don’t interest me. To me, most of these shows have the same tropes, and same main character personalities, which makes them all feel the same.

I watch a lot of them, and I agree with you. I find that some have decent characters, but most are terribly bland. Re-Zero has a decent setting but one of the worst main characters IMO. Someone mentioned slop and that’s really how it feels.

japanese independent film generally has strong, independent woman protagonists. anime fans looking down on anyone is kinda boneheaded when it’s japanese entertainment for 16-21 year old incels.

the fact that it’s the only japanese culture besides samurais, sumo and manga that america even knows about tells you everything you need to know about america.
