In the present day this may be a moot point but regardless.
Fair warning: I am not a porn connoisseur.
Growing up, there was this notion that every country had some defining detail to their pornography. For Sweden was the tall, blonde, blue eyed girls with big boobs, Germany was reputed for having some of the more hard porn, Russia had skinny girls, Hungary had the most picture perfect women, Italy had Cicciolina, France was about complex visuals and artsy porn.
Meanwhile, my own country, Portugal, did not have an industry and when it started was mostly bland and generic, low budget and dodgy looking.
Is this still a thing or did the internet levelled the play field and every porn is basically the same stuff nowadays?
I feel like the US got on a “step” kink around Covid, at least I saw an uptick around that time. I think generally though they try to cater to everyone so it’s more broad. Certain studios have definitely settled into a more “artistic” style. There’s a female director that has some TV quality plot lines built into some that I was surprised to see.
I do always find it funny when Last Podcast on the Left will read the top porn searches by state and some are just goofy.
