like everything, “better” is relative. if they could simplify them enough not to be distracting during operation, that would be “better” imho. but as we have seen, theyre trying to shove ai into literally everything everywhere and it seldom benefits the user

This has absolutely nothing to do with EVs. It is an issue with all new cars. That said, most of the newest EVs, at least in Europe, come again with real buttons and reasonable controls and with one pedal driving they are simpler to operate than ICE cars.

Again, this has nothing to do specifically with EVs it is a general new car thing. There are still options out there though, if you want minimal digital interfaces. The Fiat 500e for example comes in its basic configuration without a central display (you can still get the bigger battery with that setup). You can optionally use your phone as replacement, for example for navigation, or not. No weather, no social media, no music playlist. Oh, and the the car has real buttons as well.

In this case (EVs), we mean better efficiency, better practicality, better sound experience (no sound, so we get to choose from a blank canvas), better torque control, better safety, less consumption (Infinite petroleum pumping? Give me a break). Mostly all numbers than are objectively greater than ICE related numbers. Few cars, ICE or EV, have AI yet. AI is quite different than electrical propulsion. Another topic.
