I’ve been doing research into a lot of these venues and I’m curious, but I’m not sure if they’re right for me. They seem quite intimidating, and perhaps seem like they’re not really for people who are newer to exploring kink, even the ones that say they’re open to a variety of experience levels. Of course, everyone there had to have a first time at one of these events, but I’m worried that if I went to one it would be like I was invading a space not meant for me.
(Of course, it goes without saying that I understand the importance of enthusiastic and ongoing consent and being able to set boundaries)
Unless you are extroverted they can be a sad and lonely affair. Go with a friend you’re sexually active with.
Much better to ease into are munches. Lets you see the people in a normal setting. Give it time, get to know people, make friends. When you then go to a club it’s more like going to a normal party.

Munches are gatherings of kink friendly people that don’t typically include any sexual activity themselves. Some are educational, some are just get togethers for local enthusiasts, but they tend to be held in public venues like restaurants or cafes
