    Some initial impressions:

    • Oh cool, they made it possible to climb the new one but not the old one even though they put access to some of the components on top of the classic version. Very nice… No, I’m not ticked at all about this.
    • And the upgunning continues. Man, I really wish they chilled a bit on that. Everything is sporting bigger and bigger guns.
    • Interior looks nice and it has 2SCU of cargo without the module so that’s cool.
    • They didn’t add MFDs removed from the original to make it stand out more, good choice.

All in all, it’s a pretty neat ship. Seeing it here made it look a bit closer to the classic Aurora though I still think it’s a bit too “cool” instead of being this economy class “baby’s first ship”. I really hope they’ll bring mantling to the old one though.

Don’t forget that they added an Engineering Terminal in the Mk2, even though the Intrepid was touted as the Engineering Starter Ship.

And given the Mk1 has component access on the top, yeah Mantling is a must now as they demonstrated that they can put it on a ship.

I don’t really mind the lack of engineering terminal in Mk I to be honest. It’s small enough that the most important stuff can be viewed from the MFD or checked with a quick walk around the ship. Access to power profiles would be the biggest missing feature, I think? I haven’t really spent much time with either engineering view so I might be forgetting something.
