My wife likes watching “cop vs Karen” videos on YouTube. One day, one came up of this cop who was harassing this mother in a Walmart security room. She had stolen some formula and some other stuff for her baby and they were giving her a hard time and she’s just like “look I’m doing the best I can here, I work two jobs, my paychecks don’t cover basic needs and utilities, and I’m not stealing from a mom and pop here.”

“To protect and serve” is correct, but it’s not to protect and serve you, it’s to protect and serve corporate profits.

I’m not saying stealing is necessarily right, but if you have to steal to live, better to steal it from someone who doesn’t need it, won’t miss it, and will still be able to pay the bills than someone else who’s struggling. But in an ideal society, she wouldn’t have to steal baby formula at all.

      Broke: Stealing is wrong

Woke: Stealing is sometimes a necessity, given the economic realities forced on us by our billionaire overlords

      Bespoke: Stealing is praxis

Baby formula, food, clothes etc. being withheld from people who need it for the sake of corporate profits is violence. Stealing is completely right in that scenario, just like occupying a place to live is morally just when homes are withheld for the sake of speculation. You don’t have to hedge on that point at all.
