I’m glad I understood after going through a good amount of schooling and having crap retail jobs that an office job was not right for me. While I believe I missed the mark slightly with construction carpenter. I’m pretty happy with my day to day.

Same here. Started a computer science degree because I liked coding and was good at it. Then I got a job writing some software and realized that if I had to do that all day every day I would jump off a building. Dropped out the same year. Now I’m a refrigeration mechanic and loving it plus making way more money than I would have as an entry level comp sci major.

I tried a handful different jobs but they all only were exciting for a week, then they bored me silly. Being self-employed lasted a while longer but became boring too.

Never tried again, that was almost 30yrs ago. No regerts. Traveling with wifey, music and videogames can surely fill a day too and are way more exciting. Still.
