Huh, I have seen a lot of people saying that, but pro-EU doesn’t mean anti-Russia / Putin.
(I hope I am wrong, just seems like a lot of enthusiasm for this guy here without actually looking under the table to see where his hands are, I want to be wrong, but have a bad feeling).
Can you provide a source where he has taken an anti russia action in an official capacity, or an anti russian speech he has given? A declaration that Putin would be arrested for war crimes if he came to Hungary?
Russia spends lot of money on lots of things in the intelligence world, so yeah he might be a little worse for Russia, but that doesn’t mean he is anti-Russia.
Not trolling, honestly asking for a source.
I don’t disagree with his feelings on Benjamin, so I am not trying to make this into a straw man, but I think it is reasonable when making declarations about arresting world leaders for war crimes, that you should apply that across the field, especially when they are happening to a close neighbor.
I imagine its easier to be tough on Israel because they don’t provide natural gas or other important resources.
Basically “we want to maintain cool and distant, pragmatic relations with Russia, the aggressor in the war they should stop”. He supports sanctions. He previously went on the record saying that “Putin is influencing the election [for Orbán]”.
Seems like a silly rhetorical question when you review the actions of Hungary in regards to Russia, they have been largely friendly when compared to the actions of other states within the EU.
You need to crawl out from under your rock. The new PM is there because of an ousting of the pro Russia orban. The whole country was celebrating his win by telling off Russia.
yeah that’s… that’s why there was an overwhelming movement to oust the old PM and bring in this new PM. if he were to be pro-russian at this moment it would be political suicide
But would he welcome Putin with open arms?

He’s decidedly anti-Russia, Russia literally sent people to Hungary and expended considerable resources to prevent him from getting elected.

Since he’s just PM-elect, it’s mostly all speeches, but his current stance is officially this:

He also had a bunch of campaign rallies with people chanting “Russkies home”.
Do you actually pay attention to the news, or just like throwing around whataboutisms?
No he wouldn’t, why would he?
