You beat me to it. I’ve seen many clowns in politics, but none came even close to the level of Trump and his army of incels. Makes the future portrayed in the movie Idiocracy far too optimistic.
When ever the comparison to Idiocracy is made I feel the need to point out that in the movie they actively sought out someone smarter than them to help solve their problem. While in real life they actively seek out sycophants no matter how dumb they are because they don’t want to solve any problem.
I would love for an Idiocracy style outcome because I feel you are right, it would be way more optimistic than our current situation.

Though they nailed the corporate greed, ads everywhere and people unable to perform simple cognitive skills (what’s happening with kids these days as they don’t develop that skill because they use AI for that in school).
I remember seeing all the ads around the screen while watching “ow my balls” and thinking it was absurdly exaggerated. But now youtube/tiktok exist and they seemingly took their playbook from that movie.
