Ah, US tax season? My condolences.
Honestly for most people they aren’t that hard and most of the commercials that make it seem hard are straight up propaganda by a billion dollar industry of large tax preparers who want you to feel overwhelmed and turn to them. They have successfully lobbied the government to make filing your taxes harder.
I can understand though. Its tedius and its easy to have anxiety about whay you might have missed. One of the things we lost with biden was the irs providing something to do simple returns.
Yeah I did Direct File when it was available and it worked great. Trump killed it and I had to go back to FreeTaxUSA, which isn’t so bad. But it should all just be directly with the IRS.
I used to use just the free fillable forms. If the tax form was a spread sheet it would be way easier honestly.
