Technology@lemmy.world•Mozilla takes on enterprise AI providers with Thunderbolt: Open-source and self-hostable, Thunderbolt gives organizations autonomy over how AI is built and runEnglish
5·1 month agoCriticism on LLMs has two angles:
- Data usage and energy cost while running it - this you would have under control when selfhosting
- Training of the LLM: You have no control over how the LLM was trained - not which data sources were used, the forkforce that cleaned up the data or the amount and type of energy used to do so

Europe@feddit.org•Germany already told its workers to ditch four-day weeks and work-life balance—now the government wants to cut their pay for calling in sick tooEnglish
594·1 month agoChange to what? The current situation looks like this:
- The conservatives (CDU) are currently in charge on an anti-labor and no progress route
- Socialists (SPD) are in coalition with conservatives and do not oppose
- Ecologists (Grüne) are hated with only 14%
- Communists (Linke) are barely visible these days (10%) because of internal conflicts
- Fascists (AfD) are leading in election researches

This doesn’t look good in any way. The conservatives know very well that no matter what they do, they will be in the next government…

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is it that when the graphics driver freaks out in your browser when watching a video, the page always turns this specific shade of green?
16·1 month agoI assume: If comment would have pointed out that this is in fact not a hardware related behavior but depends on software and doesn’t happen on Linux, down-voting wouldn’t have happened.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Jellyfin critical security update - This is not a jokeEnglish
14·2 months agoNo, we only use Jellyfin via browser. Unfortunately even with imported Client Cert, Android apps won’t work.
Edit: Client Certs need to be implemented per App. There is a feature request from 2022 https://features.jellyfin.org/posts/1461/capability-to-specify-client-certificate-for-android-client

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Jellyfin critical security update - This is not a jokeEnglish
28·2 months agoThere is a good reason I only have Jellyfin and other services accessible via valid Client Certificate.
