Nice. My wife and I are one different carriers purely for disaster purposes. I used to have a wifi router on a third as my travel/work-backup. This is a good step for major disasters.
The downside is that, in the event of large-scale power outages, it will only be so helpful. When I lived in the US, I rode out hurricane Ike in Houston and we had no cell service as the battery backups on the cell towers slowly expired. Some in 24 hours, the longest I think in 72.
Legally this is true in the US. In practice, people claim enough to hit “real” minimum wage and no one usually cares (until that tipped employee needs to prove income for a loan or something and they’re screwed)
Absolutely not. Some groups are trying to do that shit here in Japan so they can stop paying a proper wage and pass off costs to consumers. It’s awful.

I think Japanese would be mildly amused and try it. Mac and cheese is certainly at least somewhat known here and I don’t think most would even consider that sushi; just weird, room-temp cheesey macaroni salad wrapped in seaweed.
This is my guess. If you’re talking about the white poster, I’m kinda 50-50 on it being Indian script. I can’t tell if the line is above the writing or just unrelated so it looks like script. If it is, I guess it could also be Bangladesh (and technically Nepal, though I find that less likely).
EDIT: derp, there’s actual writing, not on the white poster, on the wall. The top line is connected, so I think that indicates eastern India into Bangladesh IIRC.

No one in rural Japan (or at least my corner of it) is doing meshtastic. Japan is more strict on power as well. I am a licensed HAM and even that is pretty thin on the ground up here these days. I had family visit and one brought a node. Nothing at all anywhere we travelled even in one of northern Japan’s biggest cities
