I have no idea why Americans called it the pound sign

In the old days, they called it a pound sign and actually used it to mean “pounds” as in weight. In a grocery store there might be a sign reading something like “10# bag Potatoes $1”.

And the follow-up question, not shown: “So, would you still vote for him?”

Answer from all three: “Absolutely.”

I apologize if I’m just being stupid about this, but I take this opportunity to ask: how do we add alt-text to an image on Lemmy? I always add it on Mastodon, but I’ve never figured out how to do it on Lemmy (I use the web interface, maybe it requires a special app?). I’ve seen that others have done it, and I see that it’s a rule here for images of text, which is good. But HOW to do it?

Obvious Russian agitprop, you can immediately tell by how they put Ukraine as dog poop and by all the replies to it from Russians laughing specifically at that part, but the other stuff is obvious as well.
