My company is going wild like this too. I mean, it makes sense - more AI use means code is being written faster and thus we’re making more money.
But they go weirdly quiet when devs ask if AI has actually been speeding up the time to get a finished product in front of customers. You know, the only metric you should care about?

Business is tough. Companies don’t all make it. There’s no shame in that.

I think this was by design. Fox News had their talking heads scream about “liberals” for over a decade, and then it seems like they ran out of gas. Maybe in turning it into a pejorative for their audience, it got too ordinary and the right weren’t mad enough anymore.
So they pivoted to “leftists” and “radical left” and continue their behaviour as before.
I think it’s just an op to get as many people as possible to associate anything you’d consider left wing (even centrism and moderate conservatism) with the same general “badness”.
It’s easier to make dispassionate centrists your enemy if you lump everything into one group and then blame them all for something a subgroup thinks or does.
There’s enough people calling Chuck Schumer a “radical communist” that I think my theory holds. If that man is a “deranged left winger”, what the hell are the real deranged left wingers doing???
I’ve been getting lumber sticker shock ever since Covid. It hasn’t gotten any better.
Quick sanity check would be to check pricing online for as close to the same lumber you can find on the Home Depot site or similar and see if your local yard is within the ballpark.
iPhone 15 here. I gave up on android because Google seemed obsessed with borrowing the most annoying UI features from iOS and just doing them poorly.
Now I’m on the other side and don’t like it here either.
Next phone will be a dumb phone, I think. If my toys always make me angry they’re not good toys for me.
It’s not the image quality. The image is perfect. What’s happening is part of your brain is trying to turn the words in the image into ideas, and the ideas on there are so fucking stupid your brain is fighting it by messing with your perception.
