I’m slowly working on getting away from Google, but unfortunately, Organic Maps doesn’t offer public transit directions/schedules in my region, and since I don’t have a car, that’s like 80% of what I use Google Maps for.
Also me:

That’s awesome! It’s different enough from the “standard” maps, though, that it doesn’t confuse my brain the way moving the “seam” does.
Wow, I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen a map that splits down the Atlantic ocean vs Pacific! Really threw my brain off for a moment having the Americas off to the right side, rather than the left. I can definitely see why it was done that way, but just so odd to realize how infrequently I encounter maps drawn that way.

Another issue: multiple times I have gone out of my way to avoid Amazon only to find out the company is still using Amazon for delivery anyway. The most recent one was shoes. I literally went to the physical store to try on shoes, but decided on a color/size combination that they didn’t have in stock. The sales person did their magic to order the shoes for me, and they were still fucking delivered by Amazon.

Chiming in to say, yep, me too. One example that used to really drive me nuts was when I’d go to the gym and the person at the front desk would acknowledge me by name, even though we’ve never had an actual conversation or anything. It felt fake and forced and I hated it so much.
I also always felt so awkward as a kid talking about my friends’ parents. Mr./Mrs. LastName usually felt weird, but it also usually felt weird to use their first names, so I’d almost always refer to them as Friend’s mom/dad.
Oh man, I was there late last year, currently in remission. It’s definitely scary, but you got this! Let me know if you want to chat!
Do you care to share any specifics of your diagnosis or treatment plan? There’s apparently a wide range of chemo drugs depending of the type of cancer.
