This is why commuting on a motorcycle is so nice. In this situation I’d just filter through the cars and into the turn lane.

2·16 days agoThis exactly. Slate sounds nice until you realize they’re asking $30K for a vehicle with manual locks/windows, no fucking radio, and 150 miles of range.

104·21 days agoI’m not British, but it really is bizarre seeing this old geezer actually dressed up in this stuff. It’d almost be comical if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s dead fucking serious.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI coders are carrying half-open laptopsEnglish
121·21 days agoI like how they think they’re somehow special for walking around with their laptops open. Business idiots have been doing this forever. It isn’t some new “AI coder” thing. Jane from fucking accounting does this on the way to her meetings too you morons.
Motocross, of course.
Yeah, I was agreeing with them. I also selfhost my music.
Seriously. I listen to my music from multiple devices. Having to keep all of them in sync (lol) when obtaining new music would be a chore.
Mine is just Debian.
Hilarious but my organization has a policy to account for this. It’s ultra bullshit.
EDIT: For context, I work for state government and support critical infrastructure, so being available after normal work hours is expected. It’s still bullshit though.
True, but for some reason there are a bunch of people who shutdown their PC every time they’re done using it and unless you’re using a laptop, I have never understood that. Screen lock + monitor sleep is the way.
The car wash is an additional cost not listed.

Technology@lemmy.world•Honda President After Visiting Chinese Auto Supplier:'We Have No Chance Against This'English
3·2 months agoDon’t get me wrong, I really love the idea as well and really hope for Slate to succeed and make the v2 even better. All previous EV pickups were targeting the full-size truck crowd, but I think a compact EV truck makes wayyy more sense!

Technology@lemmy.world•Honda President After Visiting Chinese Auto Supplier:'We Have No Chance Against This'English
13·2 months agoUnfortunately with the US EV incentives gone the Slate is way overpriced for what it is. 150 mile range and manual crank windows and no radio or speakers at all on the base model for $28K. I can understand wanting a low tech vehicle but I think they might have gone a step too far.
My cat always has to come and loudly check on me when I get out of the shower. “DON’T YOU KNOW IT’S WET IN THERE?? WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU!”

2·2 months agoToo new. I’m running Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
ngl that picture looks unappealing af
I do not understand this but maybe it’s because I’m a guy and keep my keys in my front pocket. I keep literally the BARE MINIMUM of things on my key chain. So far as I even have separate keychains for separate vehicles instead of having one key chain for all of them. My SO on the other had has 2lbs of trinkets on her keychain.

Not surprising, honestly. DJI had been eating their lunch and GoPro never could figure out how to keep their damn cameras from overheating all the time. Everyone I know switched to DJI.
