Going fast is not about being a petrolhead in Germany. Nor is it about culture.

The German autobahn is built to drive up to 250km/h and the German driving school is very throughout to enable drivers to drive at high speeds pretty safely.

So why would you limit the speed of a train in tracks that allow it to go faster? Having the option to go fast because you need to be somewhere fast is something not easily taken away from people.

I understand its about the environment but that would also be easily achievable with electric cars instead of a speed limit.

Here in Germany farmers are payed for a strip of each field to be planted with wild flowers instead. They don’t lose money at all and nature keeps a bit of land. Simple and cheap.

Combine with mail and use SoGo. Foss and works nearly out of the box.

People vote on what should gain more visibility, or less. So if your point is well created and somewhat heinous in nature, people down vote as to keep your opinion from spreading. If your opinion is true even if unpopular, I wager it will gain visibility. Even divisive opinions will gain visibility due to discussion.
