Oh nice, this actuall looks like a really useful addition.
Is Nicolas Fedor a known entitiy? Are they trusted by the community? I’d really like to switch from my unmaintained image.
What I really like about Dockhand is the built-in vulnerability checker for images.
Lemmchen@feddit.orgtodatahoarder@lemmy.ml•How to one-way Sync a folder from Windows/Linux to Android and Android to Windows/LAN via LAN/USB ?English
2·5 days agoYes, SyncThing with send-only or receive-only. Easy.
Edit: Hm, maybe the symlinks could be a problem. OP wants the actual files behind the links to be synced, not the links itself, correct?

Idk man, unconditional sharing feels pretty good, tbh. Making them jump through hoops isn’t really my jam. To me this kinda all plays into making a stronger bond with people that are close to me, so maybe we have different reasons for why we are sharing our stuff.Inb4 “we are not the same” meme

102·6 days agoThe thing is, if you have non-technical users, you have to set up the VPN connection on the client site yourself, maybe on multiple machines and more than once, if they decide to upgrade or even just reset their devices.
proprietary
Do you mean proprietary?

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Easiest to set up IAM solution? (OIDC, OAuth2, SSO, etc.)English
2·14 days agoYeah, I’ve just realized that Jellyfin doesn’t have native OIDC support and requires a third-party plugin for that functionality. Maybe going all-in instead on a LDAP solution is the right way then? But I think most common selfhostable software only supports OIDC and not necessarily LDAP. I might be wrong though.

2·14 days agoI think this might be on of those cases where the TUI is actually easier to understand than the WebUI. In the WebUI there are tons of terms I’ve never even heard before, but this actually looks kinda straight forward. Thanks!

3·14 days agoIf they can use their phones to log in with passkeys this might just work, hmm. I’ll definitely take a closer look at that then. Thank you!
Edit:

That’s very unfortunate as my users will basically only use the Android or Android TV app and not a browser. Maybe it’s not too bad if it is a one time thing, but it definitely makes it not ideal.

2·14 days agoFor this I just send a message to myself on Signal (or sometimes WhatsApp). I know, it’s not a perfect solution, but for these simple things it’s good enough and pretty much content agnostic.

4·14 days agoI’d love to use PocketID, but I fear my users aren’t really set up to use passkeys (they’re awesome!) and I assume they wouldn’t work on the Android TV Jellyfin client (does anybody have experience with that?).

Well, if your banking and government services, game platforms like Steam, streaming platforms like Spotify and Netflix all start requiring “age DRM” on the system level, what choice do we have?
