  • Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labor encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights.

    Albert Einstein, Why Socialism?

In case you wanna be a shitlib and cry about tankies, here’s einstein. Notice how he’s describing a society in which capitalism is mutually exclusive with actual democracy, and notice how he cites in specific the ownership of the press as a primary cause

He’s saying this shit when there were hundreds, thousands of media owners, sometimes with conflicting interests.

It’s now 2026 and private capital has continued to accumulate. Do you even have the first fucking clue who owns whatever news sources you hold up as “more objective” than Russian media? Lmao i fucking doubt it but it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out, there’s like 5 of them today

  • Which countries do governments build houses, where a free market already exists? (And those houses arent for a select minority such as wheel chair users)

Pretend i’m speaking to you like you’re a child because i am

Remember when the reddit propaganda about China was they’re building ghost cities because of, idk, making their gdp look better or some nonsense? I’m sure you saw that and believed in it. Well, ten years later people live in those buildings now. They were planned housing built around high speed rail hubs so you can walk there and go to either beijing or shenzhen in like 2 hours. There’s a reason china is literally like the only place in the world where housing is affordable and the cost has gone down.

It literally happened right in front of your eyes but you believe it’s just impossible here. There’s even western dipshits crying about how this would affect the housing market- which is the real reason it WON’T happen here, not that it CAN’T. All the fucking landlords who’d get their lunch eaten if they had to compete with at-cost government rents and weren’t able to just charge whatever the fuck they want and increase rent every single year for no reason other than go fuck yourself

Anyway, if you still don’t get it feel free to eat shit

  • We can eat a free lunch but we should be taking home food when we’re throwing away mountains of it daily. We were doing that for literally years before this guy feigned “realizing” we were doing that and told us not to

Each container of food is worth like $20 just for the food (comparative to what you’d pay buying the same amount) and also represents 1.5 hours of me not having to fucking cook and clean my kitchen at home. We are never going to cook less food because it’s buffet style serving and we are literally always going to have enough thrown away every meal period to feed everyone again multiple times over

This motherfucker talked at me about how he’d make extra sandwiches so he could take them home when working at chik fil a like it’s even remotely comparable. I want so badly to choke this man to death before i die

  • Usually this will last from 3-12 months, and then at some point it becomes a slog where I’ve learned everyhing there is to learn yet get ordered around by stupid people

    yea

Love being told im well compensated by the dining director who’s too shortsighted and ignorant to realize disallowing us the right to take home food that’s fucking getting thrown away anyway just hurts people for no gain, when he could look at it as extra compensation to us at no cost to him that would keep people motivated and reduce turnover etc.

Like the guy says “go work at any restaurant you’ll see nobody lets you take home food” and it’s like 1) not even true and 2) literally my point, it’s a perk, and if you remove it well that’s 1 less thing keeping someone here if another job might pay them more

  • Yeah they were doing that too but I mention the language stuff because it’s literally genocidal and IMO having an official state policy of “derussification” is more damning than mortar fire they can blame on “separatists” or “extremists”

If the extremists are in the legislature saying “you can’t speak Russian anymore, and if you live in these areas we’re taking away your pension” it’s kinda harder for Ukraine to deflect
