Eh, they’re not really that “brainwashed”. The Chinese people complain a lot, even online. Over minor things, worst case it’ll be deleted (unless maybe if you’re extremely persistent) It’s just the line is drawn when you’re effectively calling for regime change

I don’t even think China claims to have freedom of speech like the west does, and are rather proud of that fact
Article 51
When exercising their freedoms and rights, citizens of the People’s Republic of China shall not undermine the interests of the state, society or collectives, or infringe upon the lawful freedoms and rights of other citizens.
You wouldn’t get in trouble with the law for saying it in english, that’s true. If you say it in Chinese, you might get mysteriously sectioned for having a “mental outburst”

2·4 days agoI don’t think the republicans (typically left leaning) realise that if we became a presidential democracy, the likes of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage would be top contenders for Head of State. I’d prefer a environmentalist nepo-baby who just wants to do his best in a funny hat any day

1·4 days agoThe ESV translates things a bit more literally, which I prefer. That’s just the issue with translating Hebrew and Greek to English.
The word πορνεία (porneia) is use which is where “pornography” comes from, etc. So the ESV is probably more accurate in this regard.
There are parts of the old testament where the Hebrew literally says “Thigh” but the writer really was referring to a womb. So do you translate it as thigh or womb? Both are correct.

1·4 days agoSo Kanji is generally Chinese characters. Usually the traditional variant.
However, for Kingdom in Japanese it is 王国, but in Traditional Chinese it’s 王國… However, in Simplified Chinese it is 王国… So does Kanji line up with Simplified Chinese at times and Traditional during others?
Same, but there’s too many details and too much character for it to be AI

4·4 days agoThe UK is pretty good. I like a constitutional monarchy. I think it’s good that the guy with all of the power is just some dude who changes every few decades and didn’t try and fight and scam his way to the top like in some presidential democracies .
If you wanted to cancel an election here, you’d need the Lords to approve, and then the King.

They’re probably not in a cult if they’re still going to the previous Church. Likely a mental episode of somekind. If they got more involved with the Church that they were sane in, it might help.
