Don’t feel bad, I think the dialogue was outright unintelligible in some scenes. It’s like the only actual criticism I have of the movie.

It’s all very natural, credit to the actors, but in real life you can ask someone to repeat themselves. Not so much in a movie.

I can see that. I made my comment as a barely romaji familiar level. I just think it’s neat that the complex language/writing has translated to the global era and digital era so well.

That’s the neat thing about typing Japanese when the keyboard knows. You can literally sound it out and have it turn into the character as you finish a syllable (or whatever the proper term is for Japanese)

For real, I feel like the konami drama kind of overshadowed this aspect. Yes it’s a shame metal gear died, but kojima isn’t dead and still gets to make games. But the fox engine? That’s the true tragedy.
