    Anthropic is paying SpaceX $15 billion per year

    Anthropic is paying SpaceX $1.25 billion per month through May 2029 as part of the massive compute deal the companies signed earlier this month.

    Why it matters: It’s a massive bill but comes as Anthropic’s revenue is taking off and the company is hampered by a lack of compute power.

    • It also is a significant boost to SpaceX, whose annual revenue is only around $18 billion per year.

    Driving the news: Anthropic and SpaceX announced their deal last month, but did not initially provide financial details.

    • SpaceX announced the monthly payments as part of its filing for an initial public offering, released Wednesday. It said the payments would be reduced for May and June as the deal ramps up.
    • Anthropic also announced moments before the filing became public that it was expanding beyond SpaceX’s Colossus 1 facility to Colossus 2 as well.
    • “We’re expanding our partnership with SpaceX, and will be scaling up on (Nvidia) GB200 capacity in Colossus 2 throughout June,” Anthropic co-founder and chief compute officer Tom Brown said on X.

    SpaceX isn’t done leasing out computing either.

    • “We expect to enter into additional similar services contracts,” it said in the filing. "We have sufficient capacity to provide compute for our own AI models, including support of our training and inference demands, and to satisfy the obligations under these agreements. "

    My parents bought a Chrysler/ Stellantis product to tow their camper after I told them to buy literally anything else. Unsurprisingly it’s a heap of shit.

    The engine has a plastic oil cooler - sits in the engine valley, it cracked and leaked oil everywhere at 40k miles. Their plastic intake manifold leaks and sometimes when you start the shitbox there is a strong odor of gasoline 60k. The plastic valve covers leak 70k. Needed an entire front accessory/pulley assembly because the water pump was leaking - made of…plastic 80k. Shocks and struts are shot and causing tread cupping on the tires - 90k. In addition to this, when i drive it around I notice a few things - it’s loud as shit. The engine sounds like it has shit timing or a flat cam or something. Exterior noise is terrible you hear everything. It shifts like an automatic from the 80s and it has 27 gears so it shifts constantly. I’m so sad for them but Dad got a great “deal” on it, I wonder why.

    Camped out in sw CO a night before doing a rafting trip down the Colorado River into utah. Woke up early and found a bush near camp to take pee, hear a weird sound in the distance, pee isn’t coming out and it was cold so it’s taking a long time. Didn’t realize the berm behind our campsite which I was facing with my pecker out was the embankment for the zepher line / amtrac. Train comes into view and I’m just awe struck by the sight of the majestic looking train so close to our campsite in the middle of nowhere. Proceed to wave at said train while it passes maybe 30ft from where I’m now committing a sex crime. Waved to the locomotive, and maybe 2 passenger wagons before I realize my dick is still out. Piss all over my leg in my embracement. Truly magical and unexpected in the US, let alone nowheresville campsite in the high desert of Colorado.
