I miss the days when phones were getting smaller and smaller. Subtlety was still valued during that time and phone makers knew that while people did want a phone, they wanted it to be as out of their way as possible.

Then smart phones got powerful enough to drive large screens and things started getting louder with their presence, everything wanting a share of your attention. Smart appliances ironically are smart to get more attention (when I’d figure the main point of making things smart is to allow automation to reduce the amount of attention they need, not try to get you to interact with them via an app when you aren’t physically present).

It just seems like at some point project design was taken over by fucking marketers and we need to tell them to shut the fuck up already.
