I had to do the same to my fridge. Normally it’s supposed to beep if you forget the door open or after a power outage, which is good, but at one point it started erroring out and beeping just randomly, so measures had to be taken.
Did you fix the switch or remove the buzzer? If the switch is bad, the inside light mat be on all the time. I’ve heard of feed spoiling that was next to the light.
I simply desoldered the buzzer. I think the problem is in some of the sensors, because the thermostat for the fridge part shows an error instead of letting me adjust the temperature (but I’m guessing it’s still falling back somewhere within the adjustable range). I’m positive that the light turns off on a closed door, I can hear the relay switching it off and I can see the light coming on with a delay (like it normally does) after opening the door.
Mine used to beep when I left the door open for a certain time (usually happened when putting groceries away), but at some point it stopped. Maybe I held the button too long and muted it instead of snoozing the alarm. Either way, I like it better like this.
