I got this L14 refurbished to use as a backup, Linux-only, laptop. But it’s quickly become the first thing I reach for, over my MacBook.

Plus, cutting an eye hole out of a sticker is the closest I will ever come to being crafty, but I think it looks cool.

I got I got my T480 for ~$125 shipped, 8th gen Intel, 16GB ram, 256GB ssd, no dgpu or touch.

Its a workhorse and I use it regularly, mostly for web and git+kate as my editor.

Where’d you find yours? all I can think to check is eBay and I have a hunch there are cheaper prices elsewhere than what they’re offering.

        PC “recycling” service nearby

Aka, pick up replaced hardware from businesses and resell. Not complaining, its my preferred approach for a few reasons.

Craigslist has worked fine for me in the past. Maybe there’s less there now but it hasn’t dried up yet.

Craigslist/FB marketplace are where you’ll find the best deals. I’ve never had good deals with recyclers.

Like 3 years ago I got my T14 Gen. 1 for $200, and last year I got my Gen. 3 for $250. Both machines new enough to still be in warranty. All from Marketplace.
