So I put some in I think they look sweet even though I basically did a bad job

      They’re espresso stained acacia that I got at Lowe’s, I got a discount with my pro membership so that slaps

        Just a tip, buy another sealed pint of the stain for repairs. You’d be surprised how often lowes will discontinue wood stains or change suppliers all together. It’s also a lot harder for them to match a stain than it is for them to match paint.

        Depending on what you use to seal it, you’re bound to get damage to the sealer and stain eventually. I have a kitchen bar that I made, you would be surprised how much damage you can do over time. I’ve tried a couple different seals on it over the years, they all have their ups and downs. In the end I think a French Polish with shellac is really nice for the kitchen mainly because it’s easy to repair.
