I have fire alarms in what I consider a sensible arrangement in the separate spaces and rooms where I live, not too close to the kitchen but close enough etc.

I got around to checking them the other day, as one does, and noticed that one of them was very old. They have a limited lifespan, so I thought that needs to be replaced. Others will do for some years.

And then I forgot about it, as one does, until it ran low on battery and reminded me. But now there’s a new alarm with a fresh battery up.

I should probably clean the stove hood sometime now that I’m reminded of that as well.
