I was just thinking that the one thing the race to the bottom has not yet replaced with a cheaper, enshittified version is death. Love, friendship, food, urbanization, yes.
Yes it does, and it comes quicker. More people are dying younger, and face-down on their kitchen floors alone, instead of being surrounded by loved ones in a hospital.
If they’ve got enough money to die in the hospital those aren’t loved ones - they’re in the will.
