Same bullshit excuse every asshole uses when they offend/hurt somebody: “it was just a joke.” It’s bullying, and bullying children gets us assholes like Trump. It’s not funny, even if it’s not real.
I’m hoping these people are just not paying attention to the community they’re in. If they know and they’re still responding this way then that is just depressing
is this comic even really offensive? the father is portrayed as a “bad person”, and we’re supposed to see him as a bad person, because the reversal and surprise at the end reveals that he did bad things for a good purpose. so the comic already frames the abuse as bad. i don’t think the comic suggests you should do it irl, it’s just a skit. i don’t think it necessarily detracts from real abuse either, because the father is portrayed as a bad person. you’re supposed to empathize with the kid and see the father as a villain. i don’t think the comic recommends doing this irl either. i hope everyone who sees this has the sense required to see why it’s a bad idea. the insults are also excessive to the point of absurdity.
Congratulations on taking a joke seriously. Really nice work

You need to block all meme and joke based communities immediately because you’re too fucking dumb to participate in places like this
Agreed, I mean It’s Cyanide and Happiness.
This comic is meant to be really offensive or depressing or shocking. It’s like taking a jab of Oglaf for nudity.

It has to be a form of trolling, nobody is that much in need of humour policing.
As I was saying.

Congratulations for showing a total lack of sensitivity towards victims of parental violence over a bad joke. Really nice morals.
