Russia is unable to independently produce the most complex electronic components, such as computing modules, navigation units, and control systems. Due to sanctions, Russia is forced to replace some Western parts with Chinese equivalents or redesign the units, according to the Ukrainian President’s Advisor and Representative on Sanctions Policy, Vladislav Vlasiuk.

“The best example is navigation modules and certain high-precision microcontrollers. In a number of cases, the Russians have been forced to switch to alternative components that have inferior performance or require significant system redesigns… Our task is to make this process as difficult and expensive as possible,” the commissioner stated.

According to him, the adoption of the 21st EU sanctions package is currently expected, and work has simultaneously begun on the 22nd package, which is intended to cover the energy and financial sectors—in particular, to create a mechanism to counter Russia’s procurement of petroleum products—as well as to serve as a response to the “elections” planned by the Kremlin in the occupied territories.

I wish you’d started the post with “ukra*ne’s policy advisor Vlasiuk says” so I wouldn’t have wasted my time reading the entire headline.

Putin can stop this invasion at any moment. No more Russian kids dead on occupied lands. No more drones attacking oil, no more death of Ukrainian kids. No more war crimes.

But for some reasons, putins right wing authoritarian regime decides to continue the invasion. He decided to keep ruining both countries. Sad.

I mean, the sanctions benefited both China (more market for their alternative tech stack) and Russia (incentivized to use an alternative tech stach, hence more independent/less vulnerable to western attacks/manipulations).

I guess you can call that working.
