“Left” anti-communists making up arbitrary standards for “great track record” in order to smugly condemn every existing state unilaterally just reinforces the western status quo and prevents organizing for better. Why try if there’s no alternative in practice? It’s a self-defeating, and incorrect, stance.
I get where they’re coming from, China certainly gets a lot right. But some people here are denying that any of the bad parts exist and just unquestioningly glaze the government of a nation state.
Like why do they simp for a country so hard that the only thing separating them from a nationalist in that country is the fact that they never actually participated in its culture and have even less of a clue about the reality of living there?
