Americans think waving signs in the park on a Saturday morning in a festival like environment is the highest form of protesting because “non-violent” protest was pushed in K-12 as if that’s how it works. Seriously, ask an American about MLK or Gandhi and they’ll sing their praises (to the point Conservative “thinkers” will genuinely praise MLK and think they would be on the same side, somehow). Then ask them about the Civil Right movement and Indian Independence - they know between jack and shit other than talking about those two men. Now ask them about labor protests that happened just down the street, breaking company towns, or literally any other kind of protest in the long, blood history of protesting domestic and abroad- again, crickets.
