This won’t protect children much, but it will sure as hell help the govt. arrest people who dare to like the wrong tweet or post a meme that’s deemed offensive.
The Internet was supposed to be liberating and allow everyone easy access to information. Except it’s becoming a walled garden of disinformation.
Anyone wondering why no data minimising technology is used that does not link your actual identity to a verification of actually being over 18? I guess not.
Why would they want it to be anonymous when implementing it this way tells them exactly who does what on the internet?
