Asian American and Pacific Islander hate crimes have sadly been on the rise since Covid, although I think in the last few years it’s flattened out a little bit, but Asians are definitely not immune to violent hate crimes anymore.

nor that hate crimes against asians are taken seriously, its almost laughed off because of stereotypes and the news stop reporting it all together… if a black, white girl, or a semetic person from israel they would be blasted on national news all the time.

Which I’ve always found weird because I’m from SoCal and the shit I’ve heard some folks say would make Cotton Hill whistle in appreciation. Seriously some folks HATE Asians, usually a cultural leftover from the 1800s, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam in my areas case but still. Only guess as to why that is is because as you noted stereotypes and the fact that it’s not as historically routed across the US as say anti-black, anti-hispanic, anti-Irish, or antisemitism.
