“Love one another, do not load heavy burdens upon others. Carry one another’s burdens. Wash people’s feet. Husbands submit to your wives. etc.” - ooh boy, Christians are going to be really mad when they get around to reading the Bible!!
People can be so dumb. Religion can help alleviate that problem somewhat by encouraging skeptical thought and acts of service and a sense of community… or it can help a horny person diddle little kids, but obviously this is religion followed incorrectly. Religion offers adaptive value, to help people go beyond tribal antics and consider the needs of a wider society, or to open our eyes to greater truths. Though tbf it does seem more often than not to be followed incorrectly, more’s the pity.
